Flights to Ireland
There are many flights to Ireland going from the UK. It is a great way to travel and the Irish airports are located conveniently next to major tourist attractions.
Ireland is a great place to visit. Culturally it is quite different to the UK, which means that it does feel like going abroad when you visit form the UK. It is friendly place with the people welcoming foreign visitors. It is famous for many things including Guinness, Irish dancing and potatoes. Despite having their own language, everyone speaks English. There are plenty of things to see and do in Ireland including the beautiful coastline in the South-west, the Aran islands in the West, the natural beauty of the Northwest and Lakelands and the Waterford Crystal in the South-east. There are many rural areas as well as busy cities and so there is something to please all tastes.
International flights to Ireland can arrive in one of four main airports.
Knock International Airport is the furthest north and receives flights form the UK, Spain and even Cape Town. The airport was built for those on a pilgrimage to the Marian Shine to Knick but these days it also serves the Northwest of Ireland as well.
Cork International airport is only 10 minutes form Cork city centre so fantastic if that is where you are visiting. It is also great for visiting Waterford, Tipperary or Kilkenny and there are train and bus services leaving the area for all of Ireland. There are many attractions in Cork including a wildlife park, a Victorian theatre, many churches and a cathedral, the goal, market, shopping centre, spas and museums. There is plenty to do for all of the family.
Shannon Airport is near to Limerick and Ennis.
In the area there are Bunratty Castle and folk park which will keep the family entertained.
There is a heritage centre and a craft centre. There is also Portumna Forest Park and Bog train tours.
In the main towns nearby there are shops, walking tours, museums and other attractions.
Dublin airport is the biggest airport in the country and has flights to and from the largest amount of destinations. There is a lot of history to Dublin and therefore it is worth visiting Dublinia, the goal, castle and Guinness Storehouse, There are also a lot of good shopping places as well as pubs, nightclubs and theatres. There is certainly a lot going on in this area.
